5 Healthy Hair Tips for Natural Hair Growth

-

Growing natural hair can be a challenge. It requires patience and dedication. But it’s worth it for those committed to their natural tresses! The benefits of healthy, strong, hair is endless. So, if you’re hoping to grow out your natural tresses or maintain the length you’ve already achieved, here are five tips for hair growth.

Tip #1 – A healthy diet is key to healthy natural hair

The most important thing you can do to maintain healthy natural hair, is to make sure that your diet is balanced and nutritious. This will ensure the hair follicle has all the nutrients it needs, which will in turn promote healthy hair growth.

Some key vitamins and minerals needed for healthy hair growth are:

Vitamin A: plays a vital role in hair shaft strength and integrity. It helps regulate oil production, which prevents dryness and breakage. Vitamin A also stops the growth of bacteria on the scalp, which can cause greasy hair.

Vitamin E: This antioxidant fights damaging free radicals, which are caused by pollution, stress, and smoking. When there are too many free radicals, they can damage cell membranes and cause dandruff or thinning hair.

Biotin: Biotin is essential for hair growth because it stimulates the metabolism of amino acids required for cell division. It also promotes thicker, shinier hair by strengthening the hair shafts. Biotin deficiencies are often linked to brittle nails and thinning hair.

Vitamin C: helps collagen production, which improves skin elasticity and slows down the aging process. It also speeds up wound healing and reduces inflammation from chemical treatments like dyes or relaxers.

Tip #2 – Get Trims Often

This is the most effective way to retain length in your hair because it stops split ends from occurring at all. You should take a proactive approach to you hair care. Schedule regular trims so that you can get rid of split ends before they cause too much damage.

Tip #3 – Exercise Regularly

Exercise can help keep your hair healthy and growing. Exercising regularly increases the blood flow to your scalp, which helps keep your hair follicles healthy and growing. It also removes toxins from your body, which may be what’s causing the hair growth to slow or stop in the first place.

Tip #4 – Avoid Using Too Much Heat

Heat can damage natural hair if used excessively. Depending on the type of heat, it can cause unnecessary breakage. This will result in weakened, damaged and thin hair. The key to preventing this is to simply avoid using heat often or using a heat protectant. Applying a lot of heat will cause your hair to lose its moisture and elasticity over time.

Tip #5 – Leave your Hair Alone!

Okay, I know. It’s hard. We are always tempted to touch our hair. To brush it, twirl it, fluff it, style it and more. But if you want your hair to grow long and healthy, you’ve got to resist the urge to play with it!

No matter what your hair goals are, realistic expectations are key. Sometimes it will be hard and discouraging, especially in the beginning. But don’t give up! You may not see the results immediately, or even in a month or two. Stick with it and you will see results eventually.
